65% of the patients treated with Reducept VR report a better quality of life.

In the Netherlands, around 3.5 million people live with chronic pain*. Pain education and psychological therapy are the treatments that work best, yet only 4% of patients receive them. The rest are left with medication, which often leads to dependency. Luckily, our portfolio company Reducept is on a mission to change this. 🙌

With their unique VR-based pain education and treatment, Reducept helps these people understand their pain and live better without leaning on medication. As a result, 65% of the patients treated with Reducept VR report a better quality of life.

And that is not the only striking number our Impact in Progress 2025 report showed. In 2025, 1,420 patients were treated with Reducept VR and more than 13,000 completed a VR treatment since Reducept started. Its VR app is used in 200 hospitals, physiotherapy practices and rehabilitation centres, backed by 12 completed clinical validation studies.

These numbers confirm our conviction from day one: investing in the right digital health solutions not only generates financial returns, but also helps keep our healthcare system affordable and accessible. More importantly, behind every number is a person. ❤️

And the momentum is only building. On 13 May, Reducept brought together 78 physiotherapy practices, hospitals and GP practices to launch its Pijnvrij app and the new website Pijnvrij.nl. It passed 1,000 downloads within a month, before any promotion had even started.

And Reducept is not the only one in our portfolio making a difference. Our Impact in Progress 2025 report covers ten companies in full. Together they prevented €88.3 million in avoidable healthcare and societal costs in 2025 and recovered 1,015 full-time care workers' worth of capacity, with every number substantiated.
